Introduction

Have you ever seen a more beautiful and heartwarming than that of a Chusky? A stunning mix between a Chow Chow and a Siberian Husky, the best way to describe this pooch would be to call it a ‘large bundle of fluff full of love’. Headstrong, hugely curious, and with some of the best traits in a dog you can imagine, Chuskys are a handful, but you’ll never be able to stay mad at them for too long!

History

There isn’t much history when it comes to Chuskys since they’ve only been around from the early 2000s. However, unlike many newer breeds of dog, Chuskys are already officially recognised by official dog organisations like the American Canine Hybrid Club and the Dog Registry of America.

That being said, there’s a lot known about their parental breeds. The Chow Chow, for example, has been around since ancient China, and the Siberian Husky has been used and enjoyed as a companion and working dog since the early 1920s.

Personality

Due to the highly intelligent working dog nature of a Chusky, traits that come from both parental breeds, you need to make sure you’re investing time and energy into your relationship with your pooch. These dogs can sometimes be a bit destructive and loud by nature (expect a bit of howling at the moon kind of loud), but an assertive owner can keep things in check.

That being said, Chuskys are extremely loyal and eager to please their owners, perhaps too much since they have such a strong pack instinct, they can’t be left of their own for too long. If you work outside and can have your dog with you, then this is the perfect dog. If you’re going to be out of the house working and plan to leave your dog at home, this breed may not be best, unless you want to see your pillows, cushions and furniture torn up.
