Introduction

There’s no doubt that Doxiepoos are fantastic dogs that will melt your heart the moment you lay eyes on one. A gorgeous new designer breed straight from the US, these dogs are rapidly gaining popularity due to their fun and affectionate nature, hypoallergenic coats, amazing companionship qualities, and high-flying intelligence. All in all, these are one of the most beautiful and most balanced pups around!

History

Doxiepoos are the hybrid result of breeding Dachshunds with Poodles, ultimately creating a beautiful breed of dog that’s relatively new to the dog scene. Because designer dogs like the Doxiepoo have only been around for the last two or three decades, there’s really not that much history to share.

However, we know a lot about the parent breeds. Dachshunds have been a part of German culture since the 1800s when they were bred as watchdogs, and Poodles have been around even longer than that and were even the number one most popular dog in the United States for over 20 years.

Personality

Doxiepoos are known for their high-octane temperaments, making them bouncy balls of energy that always seem to want to play and have fun. However, because the parent breeds are quite relaxed, the actual amount of exercise this dog needs is relatively low, making these dogs very easy to look after.

,p>The most important thing to remember when caring for a Doxiepoo is the fact that they are bred for companionship and thrive off of it. If you leave the pup alone for long periods of time or don’t train them properly, they can seriously suffer from separation anxiety that can make them physically and mentally ill.
