Traditionally known as a Wire Fox Terrier, there are records that show this breed were around in the UK back in the 1800s around the Yorkshire area, but there are few records before this that can accurately confirm where this dog breed has come from. However, there are rumours that suggest they appeared by crossing Old English Terriers with Bull Terriers, and this is mainly what people go with these days.

Perhaps surprisingly, they were one of the first dogs registered abroad by organisations such as the American Kennel Club!

We’ve already discussed that the Fox Terrier is one of those dogs that doesn’t like to slow down, but while this can be a lot of fun, you will need to keep an eye on your Terrier as they can end up getting their nose in anything and everything they come across! Curiosity is an understatement!

In terms of family life, Fox Terriers are great around children and other pets, but they can be a little wary around strangers, so just make sure you’re socialising and training them from a young age to avoid having to deal with a nervous doggie!
